Three world title fights highlight first ever STRIKEFORCE MMA event in Tennessee

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 4, 2010) –Tickets for STRIKEFORCE Nashville:  Henderson vs. Shields, the first ever STRIKEFORCE mixed martial arts (MMA) event in the state of Tennessee on Saturday, April 17, go on sale tomorrow/Friday, March 5 at 10 a.m. CT at the Bridgestone Arena ticket office, all Ticketmaster locations (800) 745-3000, Ticketmaster online and STRIKEFORCE’S official website.

PAN JIU-JITSU CHAMPIONSHIP 2009

The tournament will take place on March 27th, 28th and 29th in California State University Dominguez Hills, Carson - California.

The registration fees for the tournament are as follows:

  • The fee for registration in the Gi tournament , i.e., received from Thursday, February 12, 2009 - Saturday, March 14, 2009 11:59pm is US $82.00.
  • The fee for registration in the Gi tournament , i.e., received from Sunday, March 15, 2009 - Saturday, March 21, 2009 11:59pm is US $98.00.


ABSOLUTELY NO REGISTRATION WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 11:59PM Saturday, March 21, 2009! (GMT - 7, Greenwich Mean Time). Also, note that registration fee(s) are non-refundable.

The Pan Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2009 is realized by United States Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

The athletes must be at the warm up area, according to their fighting schedule.
The athlete only can enter in the fighing area when is called by the official.
In case of victory the athlete must return to the warm up area, and remain there till the next fight.
No coaching is alowed in the fighting area.

The athletes from the following countries Brazil, France, Portugal, Japan and Canada must be affiliated with their countries national Brazilian jiu jitsu federation, and must bring federation ID at the event before their fights, otherwise you will not be able to compete.

Two world titles will be on the line for the first time in 2010 when the Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®) returns to the East Coast. UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre has been unstoppable since regaining the title in 2008, and he aims on extending his reign and his six fight winning streak against British bomber Dan “The Outlaw” Hardy, who is unbeaten in the UFC. Also, former two-time heavyweight champion Frank Mir will attempt to make history when he squares off against number one contender Shane Carwin in a clash of the titans that will leave the winner with the interim UFC heavyweight championship belt.

Mayweather-Mosley already getting physical

NEW YORK – Music blared over the loudspeakers, smoke billowed across the stage, and the curtain dropped to reveal Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Shane Mosley dressed to the nines as a crowd of several thousand inside the Nokia Theater let out a roar.

They won't meet in the ring until May 1 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, but the first stop on a whirlwind, three-city publicity tour Tuesday included plenty of pomp and pizazz.

Fireworks, too.

After lengthy introductions that would have made silver-tongued Michael Buffer blush, the unbeaten Mayweather and the welterweight champion Mosley sauntered to the middle of the stage and stood face to face. Jawing turned to pointing, pointing turned to shoving, and before long, promoters from both camps were rushing forward to separate them.

Perhaps the altercation was staged, but it's hard to fake the animosity between them.
